Fruit Gusher Moment
Because Meghan and Mom had to finish shopping for gifts (Meghan is buying mine as we speak...) mum asked me to load the dishwasher from breakfast (normally Meghan's job, but she didn't have time). I agreed, but then the realization hit me: I HAD TOO MUCH TO DO! When my dad nicely reminded me to finish the kitchen, I blew up. I broke down on my bed and cried huge tears of self pity. A scripture ( I don't know the reference, sorry!) came to me in the middle of my tear fest: 'Be still and know I am God'. No matter what we have on our plate, we need to do just that: be still and know He is God.
So the next time you eat a fruit gusher ( which I doubt many of you do... but I'm just sayin), remember that the next time you're like that piece of chewy candy waiting to spew, just simply BE STILL AND KNOW HE IS GOD!
PS: By the way, Merry Christmas! ; )

Christmas Tag

I was tagged for the first time! Thank you Jessica McDonald for allowing everyone to be tagged by you! This tag is my answers about Christmas, which is fast approaching. Christmas happens to be my favorite time of year, so how could I pass up a "Christmas Tag"? *smile*
Here I go...
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper, without a doubt. Otherwise, wheres the fun of ripping it open and throwing it all over the living room :P
2. Real tree or Artificial? Definetly real. Artificials just don't feel right to me (sorry anyone out there that has one!)
3. When do you put up the tree? It varies, this year it was the beginning of December, methinks the 6th...
9. Easiest person to buy for? Anna. Anything pink, princess, or fairies is perfect for her!
10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail... except for the price of stamps. = )
:-)12. Favorite Christmas movie(s) ? The Nativity Story, The Toy that Saved Christmas, and White Christmas

Christmas is near...
I love December! Christmas is coming and everyone is in the holiday mood! Our christmas tree is decorated (see above) with tons of ornaments! We have picture ornaments for every year since birth for all us kids, plus keepsake ornaments, and other cute ones we couldn't bear to part with. Topped with a stained glass star, it is the 'perfect' tree (we say that every year, but its true!). Soon my cousins, Tina and Justin, will come over and decorate cookies with frosting and sprinkles, yum! Thinking of gifts to buy, making a wishlist for yourself... but we rarely stop and think about the reality: Jesus had no decorated house, no cookies or warm afghans to snuggle up in, and only three gifts. He got three gifts, so why should we, his humble servants, get any more? We are no more deserving and yet we sometimes take the christmas story for granted. When everything is crazy getting ready for christmas, stop and think about how much Jesus did without and maybe then you will see a not-quite- full stocking as a blessing and priveledge.Merry Christmas!
